The missing piece of the hormone puzzle

Many women come to me convinced that their hormones are causing their symptoms.
They're struggling with fatigue, weight gain, brain fog, poor sleep, low mood or anxiety. Yet when they have blood tests, they're often told everything is normal.
While that can be reassuring from a medical perspective, it doesn't explain why they still don't feel like themselves.
The reality is that many symptoms experienced in midlife don't fit neatly into one box. Hormones certainly play a role, but so do stress, sleep, nutrition, blood sugar balance and how efficiently the body processes and clears hormones. To understand what is driving symptoms, it can be helpful to look at the bigger picture.
This is why I'm excited to be offering the new Women's Health+ test from Genova.
Looking beyond hormone levels
Traditional hormone testing focuses on measuring hormones such as oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone. While these hormones are important, hormone levels alone don't always tell the whole story.
Two women can have similar hormone levels but very different symptoms. The difference may lie in factors such as stress, nutrient status or how effectively their bodies metabolise hormones.
Women's Health+ helps connect these dots.
What does Women's Health+ measure?
The test assesses several key areas that influence hormonal health and wellbeing.
Sex Hormones
It measures oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone and DHEA, providing insight into factors that may influence mood, energy, menstrual cycles, libido and body composition.
Oestrogen Metabolism
It's not just about how much oestrogen your body produces, but how well it breaks it down and clears it. Understanding these pathways can provide valuable insight when symptoms such as PMS, heavy periods, bloating or breast tenderness persist.
Stress Response
The test measures your cortisol rhythm throughout the day. Since cortisol influences energy, sleep, blood sugar balance and resilience, understanding your stress response can help explain symptoms that might otherwise be attributed solely to hormones.
Nutritional Status
Many nutrients are involved in hormone production, energy metabolism and neurotransmitter function. The test includes markers that can highlight areas where additional nutritional support may be beneficial.
Optional Genetic Insights
An optional genetic component looks at genes involved in hormone metabolism and methylation, helping to personalise recommendations even further.
Who might benefit?
This test may be helpful if you're experiencing symptoms such as:
• Fatigue
• Brain fog
• Low mood or anxiety
• Poor sleep
• PMS or perimenopausal symptoms
• Low libido
• Weight gain that's resistant to change
It can also be useful if you feel you're doing all the right things but aren't seeing the improvements you'd expect.
Turning information into action
Testing should do more than generate data. It should help explain why you're experiencing the symptoms you are and provide a clearer direction for what to do next.
By looking at hormones, stress, nutrient status and hormone metabolism together, Women's Health+ helps create a more complete picture of what's happening in your body and where support may be needed.
Launch offer
To celebrate the launch of Women's Health+, I'm offering the first 10 people who book by 31 July the opportunity to access the test from £265, including a complimentary 30-minute results consultation.
The test is completed from the comfort of your own home using saliva and urine samples. There is also an optional cheek swab if you'd like to include genetic markers related to hormone metabolism and methylation.
Together, we'll review your results, discuss the key findings and identify the most appropriate next steps for your health.
If you'd like to take advantage of this offer, book a free discovery call to explore whether the Women's Health+ test could be right for you.
